Thanks. this comes from the Morpheus synth module. think of it like the famous "morph" effect in movies - one object morphs from one thing into the other thing. a computer takes the two images and interpolates between them, showing all of the stages to go from one to the other. for example, King Theoden becoming young again in LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS, or the T-1000 in TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY turning from one person into liquid metal and back into another person. in the instance of Z-Plane filters, take two filters with various band characteristics - essentially two many-band EQs with adjustable resonance, right? - and then morph between them over a period of time. so, if you think of it like a 3D diagram, if frequency is the X-Plane and amplitude is the Y-Plane, then the morph between the filters is the Z-Plane. hope that helps. others feel free to elaborate. -- Bruddah Max Lord of the Dance
