Realm was right - its a shity job analysing the notebook market for something good. Hope that anybody can help me to get any further. I was talking to m-audio about the compatibility with their products, they told me to buy an notebook with an intel chipset with an P4 or VIA with Athlon, and - most important - they recomend Texas Instruments Firewire controllers I checked the specs of Dell, Asus, HP and other manufacturers but didnt get the right informations The Dell Inspiron 5150 seems to be a nice option but they didnt have informations about their chipsets online, neither they have email suport... If anybody know wich chipsets and 1394 controllers are used ??? HP, realm, you said your happy with your notebook, but its discontinued isnt it? i asked HP, they said their notebooks do no longer have video ram, none of them!? iBook....hm, at this time it would be my choice, i guess. Anybody know how the Audiophile works with the ebook? is the 4200rpm disk fast enough to record 4 track audio? Thanks guys....
