Re: [xl7] Saving Patchs w/ Patterns

Patterns and Presets are completely seperate entities. You have to save
any Patterns you create to the User Pattern locations, and the same goes
for any Presets you create. The Pattern doesn't actaully save the Preset
data, it just saves the location of the preset that was used in the
Pattern.

For instance, say you have a Pattern where you're using a custom bass
sound you made on Track 1. The preset parameters you change to make that
bass sound aren't stored in the pattern, they are stored in the Preset
itself. So you would need to save that Preset to a User location such
User Bank 0, Preset number 004 (0:004). The Pattern has no idea that
there is a bass sound on track 1, it only knows that it needs to play
whatever preset is stored at 0:004.
So, whenever you make a new Preset, be sure to save that, and THEN save
the Pattern again too.

Subject: [xl7] Saving Patchs w/ Patterns

Hey guys, newbie question here. I have been creating my own patterns
and saving them with the xl7. I have been having a problem though
when I turn off the xl7. When I turn it back on, all of the patches
that I have set up for the individual tracks for my pattersn are
changed to some default set up. I have tried several times recording
and saving the patches that I want to the patterns that I have
created. What is the correct way to save these patches to patterns? I
have tried to research this issue in the manual and there is no clear
cut decription of how to deal with this issue. Thanks again for any
help.

Chris
