Honestly, I wouldn't recommend a subwoofer for anyone unless you have a 
really good control room.  Most people I know that add them, only have 
more troubles in the long run.  Getting a subwoofer properly tuned and 
calibrated is NOT easy at all, I would recommend you spend the money on 
quality monitors that go low on their own.  Not saying the JBL's are bad 
(I know nothing about them), just that other speakers can go down to 37Hz 
(Mackie HR824's) and that would probably be better for music making than 
getting a sub and having to deal with the crossovers fequencies and 
tuning.  Also, mastering quality subs are insanely expensive, take a look 
at some of the "Reference" series, ala the Reference 3a's.

hi,

i use some JBL Control 1 for mixing with some bigger DIY speakers for low 
frecuencies. I d like to replace the DIYs with some subwoofer. Anybody got 

suggestions wich subwoofer is good for mixing/mastering? Does anybody know 

if the YAMAHA YSTSW015 is any good?
