Kinda, it's a sampling sequencer, where as the Command Stations are a
synthesizing sequencer. I think the MPC1000 is pretty cool if you need a
small portable sequencer/sampler.

it is even after just reading about it on the Akai site. Is it
essentially like an XL-7 but
