thanks for the quick response. you guys at emu dont even create cool gear,
you also have one of the fastest support ive ever seen. :-)
its good to know that your are working on the timing bug.
i hope, ive now undestood the rechannelize function. sadly it doesnt do
all the things i want it to.
would it be possible to add some kind of midi echo / midi thru like
sofware sequencers have one. this would make the xl7 even more flexible,
when you are using external gear. my idea is that the midi in and the xl7
pads are rechannelized to the track settings. if the track settings are set
to ext midi out b, youll be able to play an expander (like my waldorf q)
using the xl7 pads or a master keyboard attached to midi in a.
what do you thing about this idea ?
aaron, can you give us a hint on the forthcoming usb support ? what will be
possible ? accesing the internal 32 channels only , or will it be possible
to acces the midi i/o a and the midi out b too ? this would be a dream,
because you dont need any further midi interface for the rest of your gear
!
beside all these questionsm, problems and update suggestions : THE XL7 IS
REALLY COOL :-)

ps: is anybody interested in using the group chat ?

This is a known bug. If you've edited a pattern (indicated by an * by the
name), switching to it will "chunk". The workaround (till the next release,
when it'll be fixed) is to save the edited pattern and then revert to saved.
2) the rechannelize function does not work the way i expected it to do.im
using my xl7 in combination with a kawai k5000s ( connected with midi i/o
a ) and a waldorf Q ( connected to midi out b).ive set the xl7 to
rechannelize=always, track 3 to midichannel b1 (for the waldorf) and
dest:out.when i play the pads i always hear the waldorf and the xl7( playing
the sound assigned to channel b1). when i play the k5000s, which is set to
local off, i can only hear the xl7. the recorded data plays only on midi out
b1, as it should do.i thought rechannelize would allow me to play only the
waldorf, either playing the pads on the xl7 or the k5000s. i remember that
someone else on this list was talking about related problems.
If you turn local off, it will keep the pads from playing the internal
synth. Right now the two functions ("rechannelize to track channel" and
"midi thru") aren't really interrelated. The soft thru happens before the
rechannelization (hence the internal channel 3, external channel 1 thing).
3)ive noticed a strange thing in the midi setupwhen i load a new user multi
setup the parameter "midi in channels 1-16 " says "---" . when i change it i
can only switch between a or b. can anyone give me a hint, on this problems
If you don't have any user presets that you've edited (or have backed up any
presets that you changed) you could reinitialize user data. Boot into
diagnostics (hold two cursors when you power up) and select "17 Init Data
Except Seq". Make sure you DO NOT select "16 Initialize User Data" as you
will lose ALL SEQUENCES.
