As a workaround for the inability to revert in XMIX, try using a duplicate pattern (if you have enough memory, you can just copy your entire bank of patterns to another bank). So for example you'd start with pattern 1 in bank 1, change track 2 to use track 2 from pattern 3, then switch to track 2 from pattern 1 in bank 0 (the dupe bank) to revert to the original pattern.
