In the MIDI menu of the XL-7, you want to turn off "rechannelize". :)

Subject: [xl7] External Sequencing using CuBase
Hi Gang,
I hope someone can assist me I've been a lurker on this list for a
while but I'm having some difficulty getting Cubase to control more
than one XL-7 patch. I've searched the archives and read the XL
manual but have not found anything relating to my specific delema. I
always seem to end up with is any or all of the Cubase tracks
controlling only the patch in the display. Basicly what I want to do
is have Cubase MIDI tracks 1, 2, 3... 8 control a seprate patches on
the XL.
In otherwords:
Cubase MIDI track 1/MIDI chan 1 -> XL-7 prc: Kick2
Cubase MIDI track 2/MIDI chan 2 -> XL-7 prc: Snare
Cubase MIDI track 3/MIDI chan 3 -> XL-7 prc: Hats1
Cubase MIDI track 4/MIDI chan 4 -> XL-7 bas: Vortex
Cubase MIDI track 5/MIDI chan 5 -> XL-7 syn: BigE
Cubase MIDI track 6/MIDI chan 6 -> XL-7 syn: TooBig
Cubase MIDI track 7/MIDI chan 7 -> XL-7 hit: Enrezzle
Cubase MIDI track 8/MIDI chan 8 -> XL-7 key: DeepOrgan
Is this possible?
Btw,
My Cubase rig DAW rig is only for recording, not connected to internet.

Quick Bio:
My music styles include Jazz Rock Electronica. I have a real job as a
network engineer/project manager and don't have the time and/or talent
to spend on making music as I would like (boy I envy you guys who do
this for a living and those who pump out some of the great stuff I've
heard on this list over the past few months! ;))
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
