well, the great thing about Unisyn (and i just upgraded to 2.1 for X, so
we'll see how well that works) is that it presents all of the parameters on
one screen with the envelopes graphically displayed. plus it includes a
graphical arpeggiator editor and publishes the patch names to the FreeMIDI
(and CoreMIDI) patch lists, so Digital Performer's patch menus stay updated.
the integration with DP is really phenomenal, and i'm chomping at the bit to
leave Mac OS 9 behind forever and stay in X full time. yee howdy!

the great thing about the XX-7s though is that they're pretty much all in
one boxes - no computer required. with all them knobs editing is pretty darn
easy, and it's nice to be able to write all of the knob tweaks into a
pattern. :D
