Make sure you have Rechannelize Input (MIDI Menu) set to "Always" or
"Record". My guess is that your piano is only outputting on Channel 1,
and that's why you can record on track 3, which is Channel 3 by default.
Rechannelize will covert the input channel to what the currently selected
track is.

Subject: [xl7] P2500 Sequencing newbie question
Hi All.
Today, I sat down for the first time wih my P250 and my keyboard. I
managed to record some patterns - base drums etc on different
tracks. I created a few different patterns and arranged them into a
song. It plays back fine. Great!
My problem is this.
Once I've recorded some drums on tracks 1 & 2, I want to record bass
on track 3. Doing this in Logic Audio - no probs. What happened to
me on the P2500 was that I didn't seem to be able to have a bass
sound to *hear* as I recorded it, and still have the drums playing.
IE - I seemed to be recording on midi channel 1 (drums). Since I was
using onee of the BTS (which had a bass section), I was able to
achieve what I wanted - but for other stuff that I want to do - this
seems to be a stumbling block for me.
The keyboard that I'm using is basically an electric piano with Midi
out - not very sophisticated.
Any help much appreciated.
regards, Peter
