Re: [xl7] Digital XL7 and SP808

Actually, I was refering to 'full erase' using a 100 meg zip drive (the original kind), using the upgraded. If you replace the drive with the 250 version, then your 808 becomes identical to the EX model.

Where did you get anything about erasing and formating Zips from my post? Not sure I understand what you mean. Do you mean performing a full erase on a 100MB disk inserted into a 250MB drive? I worked for 4 months with an "User Installed" 250 drive in my sp808, and I still used my 100MB disks just fine. They were perfectly functioning, even with Full Erase operations.

This is not entirely the case.

Performing a 'full erase' on a 100 meg disk will destroy the disk. You can 'quick format' only.

However, upgrading your disk to the 250 one (or >any< ide sized drive, removable or not) is really cheap right now.

BTW, did you know you can upgrade your 808 into the EX version for free? The OS from the EX version works just fine in the reguler 808, and you can swap out the internal 100MB Zip drive for a 250MB one too!
