uk rom prices aren't great at the moment, as well as half of them being unavailable now. www.digitalvillage.co.uk and www.turnkey.co.uk were the two most reliable suppliers I used. Don't buy online though, contact them over the phone, they are doing some pretty good discounts (turnkey quoted me £169 for one board - can't remember which, but when I asked for a deal they went straight down to £139). Digital village quoted me £125 each for orch 1 & 2 bundled together, while on the website they're much higher. If you can find anyone in the uk/world who will ship a sounds of the zr,enqoniq project or pure phatt to the UK then email me, because I've had no joy whatsoever. I got turnkey's last world expedition and no-one else does those anymore either. Rom pricing: protozoa seems to be £99 everywhere, techno is around £130 but xlead 2 is quite pricey - I had to settle for 169, and they wouldn't even budge when bundling it with one of my px-7s. Bargain wise turnkey are now doing the px-7 at £329. If you flog off the drum rom for a ton on ebay, that means you get a hardware sequencer and bare proteus synth for just over £200, which is pretty good going. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "joepm.rm" <joe@m...> wrote: > incidentally, where in the uk did you get the roms from and what were > the prices like? > > > > --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "Alan Wrightson" <sapalan@h...> wrote: > > thanks for replying > > > > Well originally it was going to be 2 px7s one for orchestral, one > for > > dance, but they are so cheap at the moment in the uk and looks like > > this will be the last chance to buy them...and then I went ROM > crazy, > > filled up all but 1 of the 12 slots. the third was intended as a > > backup and I was using the p2k for those occasional roms...but the > > bug/issue has scuppered that idea, so now I need all 3 to have all > > the sounds available. > > > > It's the latest OS version by the way > > > > one more thing - I've got one of them loaded up with the 3 > orchestra > > boards and the world ROM - but now I can't get a metronome sound at > > all!
