Can you help me decide? I own the mp-7 (unfortunately a bunch of waveforms with prerecorded chords which are not usable for flexible composing, thats just silly!!!) and need an expansion board with bread and butter sounds and a few GM-drum kits (to do r&b, hiphop, latin, acid jazz - no techno, eurodance or alike). I currently own the sounds of the zr- board, but might return it: I very much liked the piano sounds, but in the drum or bass department its not as punchy as the mp-7. That wouldnt be a problem, its still good bread and butter. But I was quite disappointed about what the brass section and woodwinds have to offer: Very weak trumpets, saxes and brass. Strings, Organs and E-Pianos are so-so. All in all I´m a little disappointed, just my opinion. Is there an alternative with better brass wave quality, more punch, more realism in the brass department, some GM-drums - I am not talking about the pianosounds that are awesome!!! What about the protozoa? (16 MB only, Outworn proteus sounds 1, 2, 3?) the composer board? a new expansion card coming up (namm rumours?) Please let me know what you think as I still have the chance to return the zr-card. All the best Heinrich PS: Sorry I wanted to add something: Does anybody know if there is a carnaval sound expansion board coming up for the mp-7/proteus etc.???
