Hi,

Just purchased a E-mu PX-7 from Guitar Center. I couldn't resist the
cheap price. I brought it home today and hooked it up to my Peavey
Amp. I noticed a loud humming noise. I checked the patch cable. My
Amp was fine, because my other gear connecting to it were fine. I
changed patch cables, plugged it into another channel. Same problem.
I also tried plugging the cable into all of the outputs on the back
on the PX-7. I still got that damn loud humming noise. I then
removed the cable from the unit and I hooked up some headphones to
the PX-7. No problems there. It worked fine. I was thinking about
bringing it back to Guitar Center at this point. The only thing left
to change was the power cord. I figured what the hell. I grabbed a
power cord from one of my PCs and plugged it into the PX-7. Presto!
The humming noise was gone. Bizarre. Did I have a faulty power cord?
Has anyone else had this problem? Anyway, the unit is working fine
now. So far, I'm very impressed with the PX-7. I'm looking forward
to really diving into this thing. Right now, I'm just getting used
to the basics. I'm looking to create some dance music with this
thing.

Here is my current hardware gear:
E-mu PX-7
Korg Karma w/EXB-PCM08
Korg Wavestation
Yamaha An1x

I've been doing some serious downsizing with my equipment. I had too
much stuff and I was running out of space. In fact, I traded in my
Korg MS2000, Yamaha TX81Z, and Boss SP-202 sampler for the PX-7
today.

Last question,
Can the PX-7 control my other synths (Karma,Wavestation,AN1X)?

Thanks,
Domenic
