Turby, I just got MidiQuest 9 and sent SoundQuest an email and a link to the e-loader. They said thanks and that it shouldn't take them long to add the XL-7 / MP-7. They also suggested trying the Proteus set up and modifying it. I'm a real midi-newbie and this is a bit beyond what I can understand in an evening after work.
