Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

I just bought an M-Audio USB Uno.  I have a Compaq Presario 2195US.  
I am getting activity on the UNO, but my Midi activity lights on the 
MP-7 are not responding.  I can switch the Midi cables to my desktop 
using the Game card cables for Midi, and it works.  I move the Uno 
to the desktop, and the same results are UNO activity, but no MP-7 
activity.  Is it a compatibility issue?

please help...
