I kept looking around for something small and cheap to fit into my suitcase to take with me on a two week trip. Unless you are happy using step programming to create rhythms and monophonic lines there does not seem to be anything to compete with the XL-7. So, I robbed my P2K of its expansion ROMs and wrapped the fully loaded XL-7 in a beach towel. It fits nicely in a suite case surrounded by my clothing. If it rains while I am on vacation I should be able to learn this machine inside and out. Oh, it is also nice that my expansion ROM from the $200 off deal came in on the last day possible for me to use it while on vacation. E-mu customer service is not just nice, they have impeccable timing.
