Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

I got the Protean Drums ROM in today, installed it in my XL-7, 
renamed them to load into Bank 2 (to prevent overwriting the XL-7 
patterns), and all works well!  The Songs don't, they point to XL-7 
patterns on Bank 1, no problem really.  
I'd say the Protean Drums are a big improvement over the XL-7's.  I 
was afraid it was going to be full of rock kits like my Zoom drum 
machine, but luckily they're more dance oriented.  The acoustic kits 
do sound more realistic than the Zoom (which I think sounds better 
than the old Alesis SR-16.)  Different machines though.

By the way, I too noticed the 'pop' noises and as someone said in an 
earlier post, it seems like it can be isolated to certain filters and 
LFOs.
