Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Thanks for the insight Steve, but I´m still baffled.
I tried a few steps with the eLoader midi-monitor on and got this kind 
of message:
sysex end count: 72 data: f0 18 0f 7f 55 01 ...
Am I on the right track (no pun intended)?
Should the full-stops be at the end of the message?

It´s getting late here so I´ll sleep on it and try again in the 
morning with a fresh head.
