Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Well, during a nice long break from work, I was finally able to get some 
new music done, woo hoo!  The track is called "In The Spiral", and you can 
check it out at:

Just right click on the file and save it your hard drive to listen to it. 
I'll post it to my Iuma site so it can be streamed as well, once they get 
it back up and running.

Originally this was just a pattern I wrote in the Emu XL-7 to play out 
live, but I liked it so much I felt it warrented a full on tune.  The XL-7 
pattern was transferred into the computer as a Standard MIDI File via 
E-Loader.  From there it was imported into Cubase where I arranged the 
song structure as MIDI, and did some minor additional programming.  The 
tracks were then imported one at a time into Cubase as audio files where 
they were mixed with only a minimum amount of additional plug ins being 
used.  All of the sounds in this song and the main effects were directly 
from the XL-7.

Mastering was performed in Wavelab using Freefilter, and a touch of 
Loudness Maximizer, although I deliberately didn't make it as loud as I 
could have in order to preserve the dynamics of the song.  Not sure how 
well the MP3 will translate that, but I for one am sick of music being 
squashed simply for the the sake of more volume. :)  Enjoy, and I'd love
