knobs

2003-12-23 by erik_magrini@Baxter.com

If I have my "knobs output midi" set to transmit then I can control
external synths with "quick edit" so long as i have my external synths
incoming CC messages mapped to desired destinations.
After a quick test I found that I could map my XX7 CC outs - AND my
external synth CC ins so, haveing the result that if i swithched from
"quck edit" to "program" the knobs behaved exacly the same on a basic
channel! - amazing

>>>Yep, the only difference is that in Quick Edit mode, the CC's assigned
to the knobs are controlled by the Preset and must be on the basic
channel,
while in Program mode the CC's and channel are saved as part of the Multi.
Flexible! <<<

A challenge, admitted. From what i can see , CCing of "global" settings is
not possible but if fx multimode is set to the preset it should (in
theory)
be possible. Maybe only with a software update :/

>>>Yeah, the only way to do it is if the effects are controlled by Preset,
then you can use the "Preset Patchcords" to control effects parameters.
Not to be confused with Layer Patchcords. PLayed around with this last
year, trying to find an easy way to implement this, but couldn't get it to
work while still keeping with my current organizational scheme. An OS
update might fix it, but that won't happen so.... <<<
