If I have time tonight I will try and test this on sonar 2.2 - one 
thought: you aren't filtering any midi messages? I can't remember 
what the default is, but it works with my other gear. You can also 
(although this is cheesy) insert a patch change from the event viwer 
and maybe the main screen as well. Haven't done that for awhile but 
it certainly works, and you can make the patch change as precise as 
you want.
