Re: [xl7] What's Up/My Home Studio Setup-Kinda Long Email

I'm looking to purchase 3 roms next month as they have drastically dropped
the prices to $100 for just about all of them and some others around $130.
My question is this. Did you have any trouble installing them? I'm just a
little paranoid that I will lose my music while installing the new roms.

>>>It's very easy to do, each ROM comes with instructions on how to
install them as well. You won't lose any data, just take your time and
make sure you don't have a static charge while doing it. Also, you should
ALWAYS, ALWAYS back up you data before doing this type of stuff, just in
case. Check the FAQ for details on doing this. <<<

I got the mp hooked up to my 88key keyboard/piano so I play notes with the
keyboard. Next week, I'll get a new computer chair with a floor mat so I
can slide from piece to piece. I'm getting a table to put my mp7 on by
itself. It's gone be tight. By the end of the year, I'll have everything.

>>>Just snapped some new pics of my studio last night, in all her red
glory (might need to zoom in to see them better):

Also, I saw an article where you could a minidisk recorder as a sampler.
I'm going to get one of these too so when it's time I can learn how to
some sampling. I'd rather by a hundred dollar minidisk that will work just
as fine instead of spending mad loot on a real sampler. Interesting huh?

>>>Well, you can certainly record audio with a MIDI disc recorder, but how
are you going to trigger it? You coudl press play, but then you can only
play one sound at a time. Might want to rethink getting a sampler,
depending on your needs. Also, Mini disc recorders use a form of data
compression to fit all that audio onto a smaller disc. Might be fine for
live use, but I'd be hesitant to use it for studio work. Just a heads up.
