A Tutorial:
Basic process: (1) deconstruct (2) reconstruct
Variation of process:
(1) Isolate desied effect
(2) Tweak it in lotsa combinations to understand it
(3) Create your own reconstituted preset
Concrete Steps to Teach Yourself How to Do It
(note: I used arp:A Trip mono on XLead ROM in audition mode)
1. Set Instruments for L2, L3, L4 to none
2. Change L1 Instrument to nse:White Noise
[or another one just to hear what's going on]
3. Change riff to Key-C3
4. Change L1 LFO2 Rate [this should be an aha moment]
5. Find Patchcord where LFO2+/- --> Filter Freq [ditto]
6. TRY changing L1 Filter Q value
7. TRY changing Filter Type [e.g., try BlissBatz]
8. TRY different Instruments [e.g., try scr: instruments]
9. TRY different arps [e.g, try SPUN]
10. When you have a layer you like, copy it->L2,L3,L4 and make changes
11. Try different layers with different sweeps
12. Try different instruments
Have fun.
Save new presets you like along the way.
Hope this helps.
Dr. Steve
PS: Thanks for asking the question. I came up with some neat ideas
for presets. I like the beats potential of sweep/phased kits.
