Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

The newest OS is going to fix all your problems. I have an MP7 and these issues went away with the upgrade. It sounds like your OS is very early on...thank your supplier. There have been several upgrades since the onset, each fixing some or many discovered bugs. 2.0 is the right choice- all previous fixes plus lots of new stuff. One thing worked well for me way back was copying the edited seq to a new location and then from the new location back to the original, ie, over write it with the copy...a pain but it works every time.
