I ran into this while recording a song recently, played around with
it some more to make sure I knew what was happening, and may have
found a bug/minor design flaw. It appears that in Song Mode, reaching
the end of the song ("STOP") resets any tracks assigned to "ext" back
to "int". Playing the song again will not reload the first pattern's
settings - you have to switch to Pattern Mode and manually revert to
the saved pattern, then go back into Song Mode in order to get it to
play properly. It's definitely the "STOP", because if you pause in
the middle of the last measure and rewind to the beginning the
assigns are still correct. Is song mode getting its "default"
settings from somewhere? Reloading the MultiSet doesn't help.
Needless to say, this is annoying. At the moment there are a few
solutions I am aware of, none of them very satisfactory:
1) do a revert-to-save every time you switch or replay songs
2) don't use external synths
3) manually stop the song before it hits "STOP", by inserting a long
blank pattern at the end
4) don't use song mode
Have I overlooked something? Is anyone else using Song Mode with
external synths?Message
