Microkosmos isn't going to do you much good without an instructor. I actually brought my Vol.1 into work today and was going to scan a page or two, but I'm feeling lazy at the moment. One section from the Preface is very telling: "These three books differ from a "Piano Method" in the traditional sense by the absence of any technical and theoretical description and instruction. Every teacher knows what is required in this respect and is able to give the earliest instruction without reference to a book or method." In other words, the book has ONLY short (like < 16 bars) piano pieces. There is not a single line of text in the book at all, except for the preface, appendix, and song titles (which are like "In Dorian Mode"). Great book, but you'll need someone to teach you. The book won't help with that, it only provides material to play. -Aaron --- dwoodaman <dwoodaman@...> wrote: > my old battered copy is just volume 1 of the scores __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
