Thanks for the tip.
  I've had a little time to 'think it over,' and I agree, your idea 
on the VA is a good one.  It would give me a simple FX processor, 
vocoder, VA, and a well-endowed controller.  I just wish the MicroQ 
had a few more knobs.  All those modulation routings...., don't want 
a Q (too big).
  Samplers - I'm looking hard right now for one, and a used 
A4000/A5000 looks nice, but I may get a SU200 for now, since I've 
still got a lot to learn on the XL-7, not to mention deciding on a 
keyboard.
