Since you are successfully uploading/downloading Sequences that would indicate that your MIDI setup (OMS, cables etc) are correct. Since you sometimes get 70K transferred, that also indicates the OS file is good. (It would always fail immediately if the file was bad) I have a MIDISport 2x2 and it has always worked fine for me. You should make sure you are using the latest MIDISport drivers (check the MIDIMan web site). Do you have any other applications running while trying to do the download? If so, try quitting all applications during the download (Especially any other MIDI software, E-Mail programs or Web Browsers that tend to do stuff iin the background). A fresh boot of the Mac might help also. What version of OS, and what version of Java are you using? (All of this information will be shown in the Message Console). What version of OS is currently in the XL-7? (shown when first powering up the unit) Have you ever succeeded in doing an OS Download before with this setup? Scott
