Make sure MIDI Thru is off on the A channels, should be in the MIDI Menu.

Sorry about this, I know this question has been fielded before, but I 
have searched the archive and can't find the answer, I am trying to 
record arpeggios as note data, I have a midi lead going out of port A 
and back into the xl7 A in port, I press a key pad and the first note 
of the arp sounds, but the arp dosn't play, it kind of locks up, I 
have messed with every menu setting I can think off, [arp/riff midi 
out transmit] etc. can any body tell me what the set up is to achieve
