Subject: [xl7] I'm pulling my HAIR over here!!! :(
ok...here's the problem
i have a keyboard hooked up to the xl-7 (midi in and out....keyboard
channel set to 01 (track 1))
*note* from here on.. when i say "keyboard" i am referring to my midi
controller, not the pads
now when i want to record sequences, (using the internal sound of the
xl-7) track 1 records fine
...here's where the problem comes in...
ok, when i go to track 2 on the xl-7 to change sounds, then switch
back to pattern to record, the keyboard (midi controller) still plays
the sound from track 1...
for example,
1) i record bass to track 1
2) i select track 2, preset, i choose an instrument (drums)
3) i go back to "pattern" to record
4) my keyboard is still playing "bass" (TR-1) instead of playing
drums (TR-2)
and this is the case for all 16 tracks....only the sound from track 1
is played when i play my keyboard
in order for the keyboard to play the sound of the track that i want
to record to, i have to constantly change the channel on my keyboard
(from the initial ch-01 to 02, 03, etc to coincide with the track on
the xl7) which is very annoying and time consuming especially when
creative juices are flowing)
is there a better way (PLEASE tell me there's a better way)
is it possible for the xl7 to change the channel on my keyboard to
coincide when i change tracks on the xl7? is there another solution?
i hope everyone understands what my problem/question is
p.s. sorry for the long message, i just wanted to be as clear as
possible :)
