Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

A few days ago a friend of mine was attempting to play the XL7 for the first time.(in a rather inebriated state, might I add.)
He must have accidentally changed one of the settings somewhere, because all of the arps stopped working. The master arp, the individual arps for each preset, none of them makes any sort of arpeggiation.(even the ARP presets!)  Ive tried most of the applicable settings in the global and arp menus, and I have had no luck. Even reseting the unit to factory defaults(after much frustration) did not fix this problem. I have a feeling this is an easy one, I am just missing the obvious answer in one of the menus somewhere. 

  Any suggestions?   Any help is much appreciated.
