Hello list,
I don't think the quad-width MOTM format Wogglebug panel looks "bad" or "Unruly" or "overwhelming" at all... what makes it any more overwhelming than putting two MOTM VCO's next to eachother? The two Wogglebugs (besides being behind one panel) are completely independent of eachother circut wise right? I think it looks like mega-FUN!! THE hardest part would be getting a 4u width MOTM panel. Perhaps for the MOTM folks that want to do the conversion (a LOT of 'em out there!!) they could use a more readliy available 3u width panel and change up the panel controls to make it different than the Wiard full blown version. Omit a few controls and perhaps hardwire some things or use double pots or whatever else these designers could think of.. Would be great!!

Hey Grant, how'zabout blueanodizing some blank MOTM spec 4u panels and offering bare (or populated, even better!!) PCB's for us conversion folks? Id love some Wiard modules to match my MOTM, (wish my blacet, doepfer, and concussor could match too!) There are some guys who organize batches of custom silkscreened MOTM panels already, BigBlueWiards screened in white would be a smash hit and would look great!!

drooling...

I am sure you could find an equal number of people who do not
like Blue ;^)

One improvement I have heard suggested is putting a lighter
color strip around the edge of the black panel. A number of
people have commented to me about black panel edges
disappearing in low light (i.e. on stage). That makes it more
difficult to get a visual orientation in a swarm of black panels and
knobs.

The use of a contrasting color around the modules edge would
continue the visual design of the EMU and Moog 900 modules.

The Celtic overlay on the Wiard is designed to provide visual
indication of the module edges. The ancient Celts believed that
highly entwined designs warded away Evil. However, this
function is not guaranteed ;^)
