RE: Yahoo address

Hi Doc,
Does this mean that I'll receive the wiardgroup messages at my Yahoo
account?
Thanks for your remedy, in any case...
cheers,
ginorobair

More Wogglebug details

2001-08-14 by grantrichter2001@yahoo.com

I had sworn I would never deliberately make an analog noise
source. Every transistor in the world is an analog noise source
(Vladmir Ussachevsky used an FM radio tuned between stations
at Columbia-Princeton). It seemed absolutely ridiculous to make
yet another dumb analog noise source.

However, making a SMART analog noise source is interesting.

Inexpensive switched capacitor filters are available which are not
typically used for music because they are thought to be too noisy.
They also require a high frequency clock source. (John Blacet
has gotten around this limitation by including a 5th analog pole
to remove the clock noise, and I have heard good things about
this design).

In the case of the Wogglebug, the high frequency clock source is
already designed in. And if the filter is dedicated to filtering noise,
it's own clock noise will be masked.

So the bottom 4 jacks on the Wogglebug (normally a multiple)
will be the long awaited white noise source with some
interesting new twists. Sorry, the filters can not be externally
accessable.

Final prototyping and board layout are happening this week. The
faceplates are back from the anodizers and I expect to start
shipping completed Wogglebugs in early September.

Thanks to Dr. Mabuse for his valuable input and, as always, the
signal to noise ratio of the white noise source will be 100%

Hi Gino,
In all of the egroups I join, I take my messages in the group
only, never in an email box.... so, I don't know the answer to your
question because I never select the email option... sorry
I'll hazard a guess that Yahoo will default to post in their
OWN box , set up as the primary addr. and they have made it sticky to
use a non-Yahoo box as the primary email addr.vis-a-vis the original
problem.
If you are brave and patient (& I'm neither) you might be able to
establish a secondary (non-Yahoo) email address in your Yahoo profile
and ask then to post your messages to that. But I don't speak from
experience with Yahoo. Another group I use on another site allows this
 if you ask for it.
BTW Thank you for the lavish overview of analog modulars in EM a
few months back. The mere fact of it's existence was a service to us
all and it was very nicely written to boot. It went into my
"keep-forever" box right out of the bathroom magazine rack.
   Good work & Thanks again!!!

Re: [wiardgroup] More Wogglebug details

Hi Grant,

Should we have rec'd an email from you if we said we
were interested in getting one of the 1st batch of
wogglebugs? Just confirming that you'd got our email,
etc.

regards,
Richard

p.s. anybody here got a mini-moog and a borg filter
and could tell me how they sound together. I'm going
to be getting my mini modified to allow a post vcf
output jack & a pre-vca input jack so I can process it
through another filter. cheers
