Horrible accident

Horrible accident

2008-06-18 by Tommy DOG

I had a mishap in the studio last night. After weeks of trying to get
things in a new order for better creative flow I knocked something
down which of course hit my Wiard. -Two knob shafts were sheered off
on my VCO (PWM & Attack)

Does anyone have a link to the replacement pot part incase I can't
reach Grant?

The good news is that because of the panel mounted pots This isn't the
disaster it would be on a lesser made instrument. Yeah! I'll pay for
the quality this proves to anyone it's worth the extra bucks.

Grant, I will try and reach you today.

This very same type of thing happened to me the VERY FIRST DAY I got my Wogglebug! I couldn't freakin' believe it. I was actually too embarrassed to ask Grant how to get the replacement knob. It was one of those moments where one is additionally surprised by the high pitched shriek produced as the moment of impact becomes imminent. I'm surprised windows didn't break. I didn't know my larynx could produce that sound! It is indeed a testament to a solidly built piece of equipment that the performance of the module remained unaffected. I now have my few Wiard modules temporarily mounted in an old wine crate, and whenever things are to be shuffled around I stash it away in a cardboard box on the other side of the room like a paranoid obsessive compulsive. My master plan is to build a case that has a lightweight bulletproof metal matrix macrocomposite lid engineered by NASA, but it hasn't happened yet.

I spoke to Grant earlier and ordered replacement pots.

What a concept, an accident damages an instrument that is well made
enough that the user can repair it in the field.

The builder and seller of the instrument not only answer the phone but
let you know it's no big deal, the instrument is designed for long life.

Thank you sir, I'll take another six..
