Seth Nemec from Bananalogue, sent me a link to his band called Zom Zoms. Fun, cool, new wave on synths. Worth checking out. http://www.myspace.com/zomzoms There is a possibility some version of the Milwaukee/Midwest Electronic Music Ensemble may open for their May 23rd show in Madison, WI.

Gez Norman, "As yet untitled" is beautiful. You could call it "Vermillion Sands" if you don't mind a J.G. Ballard reference. Listening to it, I pictured dunes of red sand... I added these links to the Links section of this group. Any other Wiard users with Myspace pages are invited to do the same. Might as well take advantage of the Links page for the group. I used "Myspace page" as a description. <humor> You can have 7000 new friends like Dimitri Martin. </humor> --- In wiardgroup@yahoogroups.com, "Robair, Gino" <grobair@...> wrote:

oh HELL!
While we're at it....
(sigh)
'in for a penny...in for a pound!'
OK-
Show of hands now, folks!
How many of us Dinosaurs, Tecnodweebs and Analuggers have succumbed to
the irresitible lure of -free- and joined the trawling
child-molesters, and
middle-schoolers-experimenting-with-virtual-promiscuity on myspace?
(Doc (sheepishly) raises hand , Grant raises hand, Gary Numan raises
hand...)
MY excuse is that it is MUCH easier to keep a leash on my 13-year-old
daughter's exploits with a myspace ID than without one. This was , no
doubt, part of their marketing plan. (BTW myspace has become MUCH
savvier about security just in the last two weeks!)
for my part....
Of the 4 mp3's on
http://www.myspace.com/toryzstarbuck
Only "Rings of Saturn" has no Wiard content (since it was recorded in
the early 90's... that an Oberheim Matrix 1000 BTW)
I help Tory record most of his stuff and so there's always SOMETHING
wiard in the signal path.
Also (at last look) The main photo on the site has Tory & Venus**
flanking one of my electroniums at a Halloween gig at the St. Louis
Art Museum last year. (The electronium , dubbed "Viaggio Di Marconi"
is a theremin controlled contraption with no Wiard components... so
it's officialy OT!). Images of yours truly are among the band photos
folder . I'm the fat, gray-bearded one, in the shriners hat.... not
hard to spot.
there are some good listens out there folks ... bravo! If there are a
bunch of myspacers among us, perhaps we should consider pointing to
all the 'Wiard on myspace' in the links section of this group.
if nothing else, it might mke prof. Richter feel more relevant
;'>
-doc
** Tory and Venus are also the primary voice talents on the Wiard
'commercials' i sent to Grant

There's a couple of good electronic pieces on seth's own myspace page as well. http://www.myspace.com/sethnemec For all its shortcomings (mainly grotty UI) it's a pretty good resource for musicians/bands - We've had ours up less than 3 months and we've had a few gig offers as a result of it already. http://www.myspace.com/vietgrove (the track with the smaller number of listens features some wiard) It's a good way of putting up demos etc, if nothing else How the hell did I get on to shilling for myspace here? Argh.

Well Norman, Myspace *is* very convenient. I put up my Wiard-related track (called "I, Norton excerpt") in just a few minutes last week. The track features irrational rhythms created by the Noise Ring as it controls, among other things, Blacet and Plan B oscillators, etc. http://www.myspace.com/ginorobair The track is an excerpt of the "mad scene" for my opera based on Emperor Norton. The rest of the opera recording has quite a bit of analog (Wiard in particular) sounds in it, although not this overtly... Hi Seth,
Your e-mail from info@bananalogue.com was intercepted by the spam filters on my
business account. This is why I didn't get back to you for 5 days.
Many of my replies from sales@wiard.com get caught in spam filters. I have to find a
more reliable way to communicate.
I prefer the use of the telephone (414-769-0791). As someone once said, "If you can't
afford a telephone call, you for sure can't afford an exotic synthesizer." I know one
synthesizer company that doesn't use email at all, just for that reason.
If I do not answer, please leave a message on the voice mail and I will return your call
ASAP.
I know many people prefer to use e-mail, which is perfectly fine, when it works. But if you
really want an answer, please use the telephone. Also people have quoted personal e-
mails on public forums out of context. This is not helpful, and makes me reluctant to use
e-mail at all, specially for quotes.
