JAG 'EDGE' OUT

JAG 'EDGE' OUT

2005-01-17 by paradigmshiftbeats

Can someone provide a detailed explanation of the EDGE function of
the JAG? I thought I remember reading that, among other uses, it
allows for equal-power panning, but I could not locate this in the
archives or in the JAG manual. Specifically, what is the voltage's
state at various x/y positions assuming typical joystick operation?

Thanks,

Chris

All the different fuctions are graphed and labeled in 3 D on the
Wiard hompage.

Equal power panning involves putting a VCA before the panning
VCAs and adjusting the signal level to make up the lost "power"
in the middle of the crossfade. The common VCA has to have
offset and input gain controls.

In the case of EDGE it peaks in the middle of each side of a 4
channel pan. If needed "dome" can adjust the power with all 4
chanels active (using another VCA or a common feed to all 4
VCAs).

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
