Encore Frequency Shifter In Frac Rack?

Encore Frequency Shifter In Frac Rack?

2004-02-25 by mrboningen

Dear all,

Sorry for the cross posting. My name is Gregg and I am a fan of
frequency shifters (even though I have only tried d*g*t*l versions so
far). I was recently very impressed with the price, specs and demos
of the new Encore Electronics frequency shifter available here:

http://www.encoreelectronics.com/

The only problem is I use Frac Rack compatible modules (Blacet, Wiard
1200, and Synthmodules.com). Whilst the power supply wouldn't be a
problem, mounting it would. I would very much like to see a good
frequency shifter in Frac Rack format, as there are currently none
availble (unless you want to get into diy and build or mod your own,
which i don't have the skills to do).

Therefore I decided to contact Tony at Encore and see if he would be
willing to produce it in Frac Rack format, here is what he said:

"The problem is the Frac Rack is much shorter than MOTM and would
require a
completely different layout. Basically it would require a completely
new
physical redesign. I would do it if I could have 40 people pre-pay a
deposit
for it. If you could drum up that many people, let me know...

Regards,
Tony"

So, what say you? Would you be willing to pre-pay a deposit for one?
I know I would. At the moment I don't know what kind of response this
will get, or how much the unit would cost if it really happens,
although I am assuming it would be a similar price to the MOTM format
one which is currently available.

If you would be interested then I would like to know! I will start
collecting names, and if we can get to 40, then I can get back to
Tony with the good news! Please let me know on list, or off:
