run a patch cord from say the sine out on the vco to in1 (or VCA1 if you 
have the new faceplates)
that breaks the normaled connection and uses the sine instead (or whatever 
audio signal you want to run through the VCA)

Check out the updated manauls on the website.  There are some wonderful 
patch examples there.  I particularly liked all the uses one can get out of 
the envelator.  There are some really interesting ideas like using it as a 
ring modulator or burst generator.
