Re: Analogueslowmotion.mp3/Character of the Wiard in the mix

2002-11-28 by waveform100

Hey Mike,

sorry, after hundrets of patches for my album I completely forgot How
I did that Kikdrum, I just know the Omnifilter was a big part. It
wasn't self-oscillating and it was a early version of the Omnifilter
without linear Resonance (but the diffrence is small), I have both
Omnifilters and love them both. Oh, one thing I remember: As you know
me, I feedbacked both Envelopes to play with diffrent decay-
characters. Very helpful is also the VCA (Mixolator) with the
variation from lin to log.

BTW: you say the Wiard has a clear character. I agree, but it is
extremely warm and clear. A special mix and that's why I honestly
don't know any Synth with a similar sound. I know not everybody will
agree with me, but the ones having a Wiard know what I mean. A
ongoing surprise for me is its behaviour in the mix. I have good
Outboard-EQ's, but with the Wiard I tend to use them in a more
creative way (or not at all), because in most cases it isn't
necessary to cut the sound for the mix.

BTW: Mike, I am on the same label as Suzanne Ciani, the famous female
Buchla-Expert (neuronium).
