Correct -- even in Manual mode, it won't work. The Polysix (& other "memory" synths) runs ALL of its control voltages thru the CPU -- any problem on the data or address lines will be reflected in the synth audio section. I've never seen a battery-damaged P6 that didn't need at least SOME trace repair -- if you're fairly comfortable with reading schematics & tracing circuitry, this is do-able.
