Moog+computers? Photos? ELP live? Moog stuff
2008-12-12 by Bill Sautter
Dear Synth geeks, Four things: 1. Does anyone have any info, articles, research, etc., on early synth/computer interface work that Bob Moog did? Bob did a column in BYTE Magazine for many years, for example, and several people have mentioned remembering some columns he'd written on the subject. This is important re: my work with the Moog Foundation (www.moogfoundation.org) 2. I'm looking for any photos of Bob Moog with famous musicians/artists who use his synths, or major acts photographed with Moog instruments (including the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Beach Boys, et al.). I have some, but need more (also re: the Foundation). 3. Does anyone have a [good quality] live recording of ELP doing "Trilogy" and/or "The Endless Enigma"? I have lots of rare ELP material, but have never seen or heard of a live version of either track. 4. I'm interested in any Moog modular systems or modules that anyone may have for sale. I also have some extra modules to consider trading/swapping. Please let me know. In particular, I'm looking for: - an extra 921 - 928 Sample & Hold - 6401 (single) or 6402 (dual) Ring Modulator - 6552 Frequency Shifter - String Filter - 950B Scale programmer - 901C Output Stage - programmer & photo-resistor customized modules (like Keith Emerson's system) - polyphonic modules (like Walter/Wendy Carlos' system) - other Moog accessories, rarities, etc. Thanks, Bill Bill Sautter E-Mail: sautter@...
