If this has the usual two-buss keyboard (with two contacts for each
key: one for the note, and one to trigger), then it's likely
that the note contact for middle c is not making contact (broken or bent)
-- this would result in the effect you describe, since most of those
older synths have a "note memory" that retains the last control
voltage until a new one is played.

whatever the last note is that i played gets repeated when i press my

same octave..everything...
