MS20 modifications?

MS20 modifications?

Does anyone know of any MS20 mods. In particular mods for the Mg
section?

Cheers,

Richard.

Back in the late 80s, I separated the keyboard from the module. It
comes apart quite nicely, although the module wraps around to form a
sort of upside U. I'd planned to install it in a different box but I
changed my mind in the end and put it back.

I bought a Kenton Pro Solo for mine:

It works great with the MS20's HZ/V keyboard tracking and inverted
triggers and has an additional aux out for controlling the filter.

Personally, I wouldn't modify mine more than that.

Yeah, I'm not interested in doing any destructive mods. Most of all
I'd like to slow down the MG speed a whole lot, say, down to 1/20th
of a Herz.

Got a computer? Create an audio loop that increases and decreases at
your given rate, feed the output of the soundcard to the Envelope
Follower of the MS20, patch to where you wanted to send that MG.
Sweep the pitch for a second one.

The best I can do considering I'm under stress and have a headache
and I'm just hanging around waiting for a train. Good luck.

I looked for something clever over at http://www.paia.com/ but I
didn't see anything.

Cheers!

Just glancing at the schematic I'd say increase the value of C22 (.1
microF). The most useful thing to do is to put another capacitor in
parallel with a SPST switch on one end to switch it in and out. That way
you get two frequency ranges, although then you've got to mount the switch
somewhere.

In other words, tack this circuit...

across the existing capacitor. Try different values until you get the range
you want. Every time you double the capacitance you double the period/halve
the frequency. Note that this will work with any LFO once you identify the
integrator capacitor.
