the mod works great! i ended up going with the electrolytic cap, mainly because the ceramic was a little on the bulky
side. the mg-1 filter is really quite a contrast compared with the x911's. it's frequency range is way higher and the
attack and release controls provide more extreme fx, whereas the x911 gives you more adsr type control over the
waveform for a much smoother effect. they're really two very different machines and should compliment each other well.

i also removed the foam layer between the control panel and casing, as it was mostly a gooey mess anyway(fun cleaning
job too). i replaced it with a tighter-grained foam sheet from the craft section of wal-mart. seems to work really
well. i previously did the same thing for my 106.

i need about 6 slider knobs for the mg-1. anyone have a parts machine or know where i can get some? i'd even go with
replacing them all with suitable non-originals.

bob, if you(or anyone else for that matter) are remotely interested in that dead crumar compac piano we spoke about
awhile ago, you can have it for the cost of shipping and handling(about$25). it does have the original softcase with
crumar on it, albeit in the need of zipper repair and some restitching. woo! what a selling point! ;-)

Chipsforbrains has them on ebay. they have a lot of great stuff for
the 106 also. I emailed them to get the precise amount of stuff I
needed. They are developing some great products too.
