well, lack of response to this post on the old oldsynth inspired me to get off my duff(metaporically speaking or wut) and join the new group. hello everyone. have ye any wisdom for this wayfaring, uh, wayfarer. here's the original post: woohoo! just scored an mg-1 at a yard sale. after a heart attack and some rust removal, it and i appear to be working fine. i read in a user review(at synthmuseum, i think) that an external souce could be sent through the filter(like the korg x911, i assumed), but i have not found this to be so. is it so? the rca inputs, i realize, just go straight to the outputs. also checked out the synhouse midijack for a midifying solution. is this the cheapest way to go for basic midi control? i have a tb303 and a drumulator modified for roland sync compatability, but i don't think they will work with the mg-1. would someone explain the cv and trigger inputs and what type of units should work with them. better yet, does anyone have a user and/or service manual to share? many thanks, shayne i just had another thought(scary). i think there are cv jacks on the back of my x911. if i connect these to the mg-1 would i be able to control it with whatever is plugged into the x911? i'm going to try it anyway. the cv and triggger jacks on the mg-1 are each stereo(tip/ring/sleeve) jacks are they not?
