You may blend ADJACENT tracks only,A-B, B-C with the older and most recent tapes. There are some exceptions with the tapes earlier on, now resolved. Tony #510

It won t hurt it to change or blend tracks while playing. The tape rubs over the surface of the heads anyway. The side to side movement of the tape heads
