[motm] MOTM-320 Tempco Placement?

[motm] MOTM-320 Tempco Placement?

2000-12-25 by elhardt@aol.com

Question:
On the 320 LFO, the tempco resistor is supposed to touch Q1 and Q2, yet the
instructions say in bold face to be sure that the tempco resistor is "all the
way flat on the pc board surface". It would make far better contact with Q1
and Q2 if left about 1/10 of an inch above the pc board. Is it more
important that it sits flat on the pc board then make good contact with Q1
and Q2?

Thanks

Looking at my 320s the Tempco seems to have pretty good contact with the
IC's although it is near the base of the enclosure. Paul always has a good
reason when one of the instructions is in bold, and perhaps he will
enlighten us when he returns from his vacation.

Hmmm......I suppose you can raise it off the pcb some to contact the 2
transistors. But it doesn't
matter *that* much, since it runs at such a low frequency.
