MOTM-820 is Alive!

MOTM-820 is Alive!

2000-09-22 by Paul Schreiber

Got back the pcbs a day early! So, here I am at 1am soldering and testing
the '820.

Happy to report, all is well! I need to go to Allied and get trimpots, and
order a few
resistor values from Mouser.

The first run can only be 20 kits, due to pots shortages. Hopefully (I'm
calling tomorrow)
Spectrol will ship on 10/13 (as Pogo the Possum says, "Friday the 13th is on
Friday this month!")
and the balance of the '820s will ship out. Subscribers first, starting in
numerical order (in case
you haven't noticed, everyone has a specific customer number. It's on every
packing slip).
I'll start shipping around Friday of next week. Need to write the $#$@
manual, too.

Note that the CV inputs are *positive-going*, but the voltage to be slewed
can be either polarity.
With a LFO in, you can get some serious weird LFO out! Wanking the '320
SHAPE and the '820
shape (LIN/LOG) can create many amusing waveforms.

I'm worried about you Paul. Maybe you should stay away from those solder
fumes for a while. Or perhaps this is the result of counting thousands of
resistors. You need another vacation!

Note that I am a *huge* Walt Kelly/Pogo Possum fan. Easily the funniest
comic strip ever,
including Bloom County (#2 in my book).
