arpeggiator module..

arpeggiator module..

2000-04-26 by revtor@aol.com

I agree that a simple seq/arpeggiator module would be cool since I realize
that the only reason I'm keeping my Juno6 is because of the arpeggiator and
how it can be triggered by a CV.. Kind of a waste of space I think, but the
Bass that Juno can pump out makes it all worth it. Anyway, have any of you
seen the concussor line of small 8 step gate and cv sequencers? Something
like this is ideal because you can expand as your budget allows, they can be
linked together internally, theyre simple, they can run separately of
eachother etc etc.. The DoMOAS will be sick, but I think there's a niche
where a small 8 step cv or gate seq would fit nicely.. Using the DoMOAS to
do arpeggios is like using a blowtorch to light a candle.. Now a simple
lighter would be great...

I believe Paul has said that he doesn't plan to do a real simple sequencer.
I'm designing an 8x4 / 16x2 10U big boy, but that's probably bigger than you
want also. Sounds like a good diy project. If we get our diy panel
silkscreen scheme going, a simple 8x1 3U panel might be a good addition to a
"standard library" of available diy designs.

I took a look at that concussor seq, I like the simplicity but hate the
plastic, speek & spell look and quality, and what does it ru n on, I think
a 9 volt battery, or one of those horrible wall warts. And the 1/8" jacks,
along with those low quality pots and switches, too much compromise, I'd
much rather see a simple MOTM unit without sacrificing all the high quality
features we're all used to. -Nate

oooops!!!
That's me, typing b4 knowing what i'm talking about. I was referring to the
technosaurus cyclodon. Sorry for the misunderstanding. -Nate

And don't the concussor modules have a combination of 1/4" and 3.5mm jacks?!
I recall the Gordon Reid review in Sound on Sound. Apologies if I'm talking
about the wrong line--these were the modules that attempt to duplicate
"classic" analog percussion sounds.
